Google My Business Analytics Metrics Definitions

 

This article defines the metrics Yext receives via API from Google My Business.

1. Google Search Queries

The number of times a search query resulted in the listings appearing in the list of results on either Google Search or on Google Maps. This includes both branded searches and unbranded searches on both mobile and desktop.

Dimensions/Filters

  • Google Query Type: Branded or Unbranded
  • Time: Last 18 months by day (since 1/1/2016)
  • Locations: All usual location filters

 

2. Google Maps Views

The number of times the listing was viewed on Google Maps on both mobile and desktop. Maps Views will increase as the Map is expanded and more Listings are visible. A Maps View does not require a query to trigger a View.

Dimensions/Filters

  • Time: Last 18 months by day
  • Locations: All usual location filters

 

3. Google Search Views

The number of times the listing was viewed on Google Search.

Dimensions/Filters

  • Time: Last 18 months by day
  • Locations: All usual location filters

 

4. Google Customer Actions

The number of times a user took action from a Google Listings on both mobile and desktop.

Dimensions/Filters

  • Google Action Type: Phone Call, Driving Directions, Website Clicks
  • Time: Last 18 months by day (since 1/1/2016)
  • Locations: All usual location filters

 

5. Google Phone Calls by Hour

The number of phone calls from your google listings. This metric can be filtered and dimension by hour of the day.

Dimensions/Filters

  • Time: Hour of the Day (Always last 90 days)
  • Locations: All usual location filters

 

6. Google Average Driving Distance

The average distance (in a straight line) between where users request driving directions and the location being requested.

Dimensions/Filters

  • Time: Always last 90 days
  • Locations: All usual location filters
