You have the ability to flag only first-party reviews within the Yext platform. Flagging should be reserved for reviews with inappropriate content, advertising/spam, or if the review is unrelated to the location. After a review is flagged, a team at Yext will investigate the flagged review and determine if the content should be accepted or rejected.
When a user flags a review, they will see the following box appear asking them to select a reason:
The user must select only one of the three reasons provided. By default, the first reason will be selected when the box appears to the user. The user must select a reason in order for the review to be flagged for further investigation.
Examples of each flagged reason:
This review contains inappropriate, hateful or violent content.
- Commonly used profanity
- Sexual connotations
- Negative remarks about an employee of the business
This review contains advertising or spam.
- Bulk messaging
- Malicious links
- Content that is irrelevant to the business
This review is not related to the location.
- Remarks about a different location
- Content not related to the physical location
- Content not related to the business
If a review is flagged, but the negative feedback the customer provides is constructive, Yext will not accept the flag and the review will stay live. See examples of this below.

Great convenient location. Good service. Our room on the third floor had a large gap under the door and the squeaking from the escalators and people talking in the lobby were very loud. This wouldn't be a problem on higher floors though since they don't open to a balcony above the lobby. Internet is expensive at $20 or $30 per night depending on the speed you want. Comfy beds and nice big TVs. No drawers at all, so if you want to unpack you're out of luck. I enjoyed my stay but it didn't really feel like a 4 star room.
